Colchester Borough Council had a need to develop their existing IT administration infrastructure to meet the needs of the rapidly evolving local government services sector.

This requirement, alongside central government desire for local authorities to grasp the e-government (emerging technology) initiatives, enabled Colchester to obtain additional funding through the Deputy Prime Minister's Office to develop efficient new administration systems.

We assisted Colchester in formulating the implementation. We subsequently acted as the application solutions provider and developed a number of bespoke software solutions, many Intranet based, that exploited the latest hardware and software opportunities.

The solutions developed enable Colchester Borough Council to communicate more effectively with its' population while efficiently administering key local authority functions at the same time saving them a great deal on large ongoing licence fees of other legacy systems available in the local government sector. The systems were also made specifically for their needs and current "best working practices".

All bespoke solutions developed for Colchester Borough Council are transportable to other UK Local Authorities which Colchester Borough Council wish to communicate.
